To whom it may concern:
This day is historical. Today we take a vote on what might be the most influential decision in the Anglosphere's history. Over the last few days, so many things had to be taken into account. Potentially broken friendships, severed relations, and ultimately, the beginning of a darker era.
My decision wasn't taken lightly, I've spoken with so many people over the matter from so diverse backgrounds. Some playing for more than a decade, others only a couple years. And here I am, with a mere six months of NS life.
What is clearly visible is that underneath all this lies a complicated conflict, which is not my duty to unravel. While it could've been resolved earlier, I had to come to the sad and rather disappointing realisation, given its complexity, that it wouldn't change anytime soon if things go on as they have been.
I sincerely hope that the two sides could sit down and talk. I hereby urge both United Kingdom and the Empire of Great Britain to start talks in order to stop this madness. For the sake of dual citizens. For the sake of a healthy environment. For the sake of the Anglosphere and NationStates.
But today, a decision has to be made. I'm here to vote out of my sincere belief of what is best for this region, right now. And right now, I believe this bill shall pass today. I will vote accordingly in the coming minutes.
This does not reflect any personal opinion about anyone involved, I really do cherish my friendships in both regions. But this is the path that I think we have to take in order to allow peace in the future. I most sincerely apologise to anyone who is saddened or affected by this vote, but I see no other choice.
If we really want change, then the leaders of the two regions have to sort out their differences as soon as possible. In the meantime, while it is frustrating and confusing, we have to wait and hope for the best.
Let's work together to heal the scars of the past for a brighter future.
